An Integrated Curriculum for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers 

Philosophy of the Curriculum:

• The series encompasses all educational stages.
• It is designed according to modern global quality standards for teaching languages to non-native speakers.

Objectives and Components of the Series:
The series aims to enable students to communicate orally and in writing in Arabic. It is intended for basic education, from kindergarten to grade 12, for non-Arabic speakers. Each stage consists of three books:

• Student's Book
• Workbook
• Teacher's Guide

Additionally, it includes audiovisual aids such as:

• Flashcards and posters
• Bilingual dictionary

Time Allocated for Teaching the Series:
Each stage is taught over approximately 100 lessons (each lesson = 40 minutes), distributed as follows:

• 75 lessons for the Student's Book
• 25 lessons for the Workbook

Cultural Content:
Cultural Content: The series presents elements of Arab-Islamic culture in an appealing and engaging way for children of this age, while also providing general shared culture among children. 
 

Linguistic Content:

• The series introduces the phonetic system of Arabic with its various features.
• It presents vocabulary drawn from the child’s lexicon.
• It supplies students with a number of essential grammatical structures.

Teaching Methods:
The series employs various methods, including stories, songs, dialogues, linguistic games, and entertainment.
It contains a variety of language exercises suited to children.
Each book in the series includes tests for evaluation and measuring the student’s progress in learning the language. A test follows each unit. 
 

Integration of Language Skills:
The series addresses the four main language skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing — in an integrated and balanced manner, with particular attention to speaking, listening comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. 
 

Picture Dictionary:
Each book in the series includes a picture dictionary at the end of the book. 
 

Vocabulary List:
At the end of each book, there is a list containing all the vocabulary presented in the book. Additionally, there is an Arabic-English dictionary for children, along with an English-Arabic glossary. 
 

Middle Stage (Intermediate) Grades 7 to 9:

1. Reading Skills: Topics derived from the environment, such as humans and the environment, the importance of communication, and school activities.
2. Extensive Reading: The "Activity Book" includes stories.
