لن نقول أن بوسع هذا القاموس "المعين للجيب" أن يحل محل القواميس الأكبر حجماً التي صدرت عن مكتبة لبنان ناشرون، عنينا "المعين" و"المعين الوسيط"، إلا أنه يستطيع بفضل هذا الغني بالمفردات العربية المترجمة إلى الإسبانية ، أن يحل كثيراً من المعضلات وأن يؤدي خدمات جلى لأولئك الذين يريدون الاستعانة به لقضاء حاجاتهم في شتى حقول المعرفة.
لقد تم اختيار المفردات الإسبانية بعناية فائقة، وكان هاجس المؤلف أن يضع بين يدي القارئ قاموساً يفي بكل متطلباته، فلم يوفر أي جهد من أجل بلوغ هذه الغاية، لقد أورد أكثر ما يمكن من المفردات العربية بدقة بالغة، ولكن من غير أن نساوم على مكان تلك التي تتطلب بعض الشرح أو التي تكون ذات معان عديدة.
